Briefly discussing his life abroad for 25 years, mentioning his Agony of modern music (1955), saying that his later book [Serious music, and all that jazz] is a more mature judgment based on a lot of listening and thinking in the intervening years, adding that she would be surprised at how many people agree with him, "including the composers themselves," quoting Marc Blitzstein in 1955: "Pleasants is about 75 percent right, but we don't want him telling us!', declining to review her book in England, etc.
